Under Minnesota Statute 211A.02, candidates and committees that receive or spend more than $750 in a calendar year on a local election must file campaign finance reports with the local filing officer. When the local government maintains a website, the same statute requires that those reports be posted publicly.
Reports are due within 14 days of crossing the $750 threshold, ten days before each primary and general election, 30 days after each election, and annually by January 31 until a final report is filed. Each report includes total cash on hand, contribution and disbursement totals, vendor payments over $100, and the names and addresses of contributors who gave more than $100. The filing officer posts the report within 30 days of receipt and keeps it on file for four years.
The reports below are posted to satisfy that requirement and to give voters a clear view of who funds school board candidates and how that money is used.
